Hide Your Instagram Story from Someone

Before you start

• Make sure you are signed in to the Instagram account whose story settings you want to change.
• Hiding your story from someone prevents them from seeing anything you add to your story in the future.
• This is different from blocking them. They can still see your profile and posts unless another privacy setting prevents it.
• Your account privacy setting also affects where your story appears.

Steps on mobile

1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
2. Tap the menu icon.
3. Under Who can see your content, tap Hide story and live.
4. Tap Hide story and live from.
5. Select the people you want to hide your story from.
6. To unhide your story from someone later, return to the same list and unselect them.

Steps on desktop

1. Open Instagram on your desktop browser and log in.
2. Click More in the bottom left.
3. Click Settings.
4. Below Who can see your content, click Hide story and live.
5. Click Hide story and live from.
6. Select the people you want to hide your story from.
7. To unhide your story from someone later, return to the same list and unselect them.
