See blocked accounts on Instagram
Learn how to find the list of accounts you have blocked on Instagram.
Go to your Instagram profile > tap the menu > settings > Blocked to see accounts you have blocked.
Before you start
- The blocked accounts list shows accounts you have blocked from your Instagram account.
- Blocking is different from restricting or muting. Blocked accounts have stronger limits on finding or interacting with you.
- People are not notified when you block or unblock them.
- Unblocking someone does not automatically follow them again.
Steps on mobile
- Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- Tap the menu icon.
- Open settings.
- Look for Blocked or Blocked accounts.
- Open the list to review accounts you have blocked.
- If you want to unblock someone, use the unblock option next to their account and confirm.
Steps on desktop
- Open Instagram in your browser and log in.
- Click More.
- Open Settings.
- Look for Blocked or blocked account settings.
- If the list is not available on web, use the Instagram mobile app.
Common problems
I cannot find the blocked accounts list.
Check Instagram settings and search for Blocked if your app has a settings search field. Menu names can vary by app version.
Someone is not on my blocked list.
You may have restricted or muted them instead, or you may have blocked a different account owned by the same person.
I unblocked someone but still do not follow them.
That is expected. You need to follow them again manually if you want to.
FAQ
Can blocked accounts see this list?
No. Your blocked accounts list is private to you.
Can I unblock someone from the list?
Yes, Instagram lets you unblock accounts from blocked account settings.
Is blocking the same as muting?
No. Muting only changes what you see. Blocking places stronger limits on interaction and visibility.
