Switch to a Professional Account on Instagram

Before you start

• You need an existing Instagram account or create a new one.
• Switching to a professional account will make your profile public if it was private.
• All pending follow requests will be accepted automatically when switching to public.
• You can switch back to a personal account anytime, but you may lose access to some features.

Steps on mobile

1. Open the Instagram app and tap your profile picture to go to your profile.
2. Tap More to open Settings and activity.
3. Under For professionals, tap Account type and tools.
4. Tap Switch to professional account.
5. Select a category that best describes your account.
6. Tap Switch to professional account again.
7. Choose Creator for a creator account or Business for a business account.
8. Complete optional profile setup steps or skip them.
9. Add your business contact details or skip this step.
10. Optionally connect to a Facebook Page or skip this step.
11. Your professional dashboard is now available to access insights, ads, and monetization tools.
